HIGHLAND SHOW - 24 th to 27 th June 2010.

The
fifty Royal Highland Show at their permanent site of
Ingliston was a great success with warm sunny weather
and record breaking attendance figures resulting in
187664 people attending Scotland’s premier agricultural
event.
In
the Galloway section, the Champion was the show stopping
cow from Dennis and Margaret Gall, Boquhan Home Farm,
Stirling, Silverbell 3 rd of Gall-way she is a Blackcraig
Krypton daughter and out of a previous Highland Show
Champion, Silverbell 12 th of Corrie. This five year-old
cow has already received many championships this year,
including Ayr and Drymen shows, she was shown with her
bull calf at foot.
The
Reserve Overall Champion was the sole entry from Mr
J C Thomson, Caberston Farm, Walkerburn, Peebles, Kirkstead
Nancy Boy is a 2005 born Blackcraig Kazan son and out
of the famous Kirkstead Nancy family.
The
Reserve female was from well known breeders, John and
Anne Findlay, Blackcraig, Corsock, Castle Douglas, Blackcraig
Noreen P260 is a Finmac Norseman daughter and out of
the famous Noreen family. Noreen is no stranger is the
championship rosettes, as she was part of the winning
teams at the 2009 Highland Show.
The
Reserve male was also from the Blackcraig stable, Blackcraig
Quota is a Finmac Nomad son and out of Finmac Sally,
this 20 month old is an Australian Embryo.
In
the native team competition the team of Kirkstead Nancy
Boy, Silverbell 3 rd of Gall-way and Blackcraig Noreen
P260 received the Championship award, Galloways have
now featured for three years in the major prizes at
this prestigious event. In the team of 4, Junior and
pairs competitions the Galloways was placed in the short
list.
